Five French Nationals on a Habarana Elephant Safari were admitted to the Habarana Hospital after falling from the elephant they were riding. A hospital spokesman said four of them left the hospital as they had minor injuries while another was still getting treatment as his condition was serious.

They had fallen from the elephant as the protective iron bar at the elephant’s back had broken while they were riding on the HabaranaHiriwadunna route. (Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa)
