At the Security Council meeting today, the State Intelligence Service (SIS) informed that four professors from local universities are in London on the invitation of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE).

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Jagath Jayasuriya said today that the professors had gone after taking leave from August 12 to 20 citing research purposes.

However, after gathering information from London, the SIS had sought to arrest the academics prior to leaving the country but the four persons were reported to have left for London.

The professors are attached to the Peradeniya, Uva Wellassa and Jaffna Universities. (Supun Dias)
