Four in hospital after clash over Korean exam

Four people were severely injured when two families clashed over the results of the Korean Language exam held recently.

Police said investigations had revealed that a son of one family had passed the exam and qualified for a foreign job while the son of the other family had failed.

They said the two friends had studied together and sat the Korean Language exam but only one had passed the exam and qualified for the foreign job.

Two brothers injured in the clash were admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital while the father and daughter of the other family who suffered cut injuries were admitted to the Akuressa Hospital.

The mother, daughter and two sons of one of the families were arrested while a mammoty, sword and several wooden clubs were seized.

Police personnel led by sergeant (1993) Sarath under the instructions of the Akuressa OIC Tudor Abeywickrama are investigating the matter. (Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk and Priyantha Dissanayaka)
