Foreign Ministry writes to Alston over war allegations

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama told Daily Mirror online that a letter has been sent to the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions Philip Alston explaining that the Government has appointed a special committee to respond to his letter addressing statements made by the joint opposition candidate General Sarath Fonseka.

“We have sent a letter to the Special Rapporteur explaining to him that we are studying the contents of his letter and have appointed a special committee to investigate the matters contained in it,” Minister Bogollagama told Daily Mirror online.
