Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama says foreign countries cannot interfere in Sri Lanka’s domestic affairs, including on the outcome of the just concluded Presidential elections, as Sri Lanka is a democratic country.

General Sarath Fonseka had urged foreign countries to intervene saying he doubted the election results which showed incumbent President Mahinda Rajapaksa the winner of the January 26 Presidential elections.

However Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, speaking to Daily Mirror online, said the General should know very well that a foreign country cannot intervene and if he had doubts on the polls he should take it to Court.
