Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport launched a sudden strike against being subjected to strict screening by BIA security officials, especially their food and beverage.
The protesters said the screening of food by X-ray machines was a health hazard. Airport Duty Manager said five flights including those to London, Lahore, Singapore and Shanghai had been delayed because of the strike.
