Group of five fishermen, who had gone missing since August 30, 2012, was saved last night by the Army in the sea off Nayagu in Mullathivu. They were in perfect health.

The group had left the Negombo fishery harbour for deep-sea fishing on August 30. The fishing craft had developed a technical defect and the five men on board had been drifted ashore. The five fishermen were residents of Karativu, Puttlam. Mullathivu police are conducting further inquiries. (Romesh Madusanka)
