Issues regarding Tamil Nadu fishermen will also be in the agenda at the routine biannual meeting on September 29th between the Sri Lankan Navy, the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, navy spokesman Captain Athual Senerath told Daily Mirror online.
Captain Senerath added that the meeting which is scheduled to be held on the 29th of September will be held on an Indian naval vessel at the Indo-Sri Lanka Maritime boarder. The meeting will be attended by several Sri Lankan naval commanders and their Indian counter parts.
Meanwhile Indian media reports claimed that an urgent meeting between Sri Lankan and Indian Naval officials was scheduled, to address issues regarding the alleged “physical attacks” on Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan navy.
Commenting on the report Captain Senerath added that all these issues will be discussed at the meeting on the 29th. (Daily Mirror online)
