A racket where Sri Lankans were sent to Kuwait on tourist visas for employment in that country has been busted by the Foreign Employment Bureau (FEB).

Investigations had revealed that several officers attached to the FEB were linked to the racket and meanwhile, Foreign Employment Minister Thalatha Athukorala said four of these officers were interdicted.

Investigations were launched by the FEB in the wake of an incident where 11 Sri Lankans who had left for Kuwait on a tourist visa on October 1 seeking employment were deported by the Kuwaiti Airport authorities. (Piyumi Fonseka)
