A fast is currently underway against the Sri Lanka Muslin Congress (SLMC) leadership since early this morning in Islamabad, Kalmunai.
They had protested the non inclusion of a candidate from the Islamabad area in the SLMC nomination list for the Kalmunai Municipal Council (KMC) election, which will be held on October 8.
Earlier P. T. Uthuma Lebbe alias Jamaal, a resident of Islamabad was elected a member of the KMC. (S. M. M. Ramsan)
