Outgoing Foreign Affairs Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has said he will continue in politics and help President Mahinda Rajapakse achieve the nation’s goals both locally and internationally despite losing the recently concluded General Elections. He says he will continue helping without asking for a post.

Speaking to Daily Mirror online, Bogollagama said that he would not give up helping the nation and would continue his political career.

When questioned if he would ask for a post from President Rajapakse, Bogollagama said that he would never stoop to such a level. “I have never asked for posts in my life. The only thing I have asked for is votes from the people,” Bogollagama said.

Bogollagama made a farewell trip to the Foreign Ministry today just at the time Professor G.L. Peiris took oaths as the new Foreign Affairs Minister in front of President Mahinda Rajapakse. (Daily Mirror online)
