Ex-ASP remanded

A retired Assistant Superintendent of Police was today remanded till June 3, by the Colombo Fort Magistrate on charges of having swindled several job seekers of millions of rupees on the promise he would find them overseas jobs.

Police informed Court that so far there were 15 complaints against the suspect.

He is also the sixth suspect in the case where an alleged attempt had been made to defraud the Central Bank of hundreds kilos of gold belonging to it. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
