The Colombo District Court today refused to issue an enjoining order against the UNP preventing the leadership from holding a disciplinary inquiry against the Deputy Minister Abdul Cader for voting with the government during the Impeachment Motion debate against the former CJ Shirani Bandaranayake in Parliament.

The President’s Counsel Chandana Liyanapatabendi instructed by Chandra Kumara de Silva supporting the petition of the plaintiff Abdul Cader submitted his client was a member in the UNP and he was asked to face a disciplinary inquiry tomorrow by the UNP leadership.

The Counsel contended the UNP had taken this decision to hold the disciplinary inquiry against his client by violating the norms of natural justice. (TFT)
