Elevated to Cardinal

Most Rev Dr Malcolm Ranjith was formally elevated to the status of Cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI at the St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican a short while ago. Pope Benedict XVI formally elevated 24 new cardinals in the midst of cheers in St. Peter's Basilica.
