Minister WImal Weerawansa said Japanese children are known to be intelligent because they consume a large quantity of Tuna (Balaya) fish.

“How did the Japanese rise after being destroyed by the war? How did their brains develop to the extent of being able to produce technological marvels? They changed their style of consumption and education. They used to catch hordes of Tuna (Balaya) fish and consume it. There is no other fish that helps intelligence as much as the Tuna (Balaya) fish. Japanese children became intelligent because of the consumption of Tuna (Balaya) fish in large quantities” he said.

The outspoken Minister made these remarks at a ceremony held recently in Mulleriyawa.

The minister urged Sri Lankans also to eat ‘Tuna’ (Balaya) in large quantities and not discard them as being too “heaty”.
