While claiming that former minister Maithripala Sirisena left the government without informing to anyone in the alliance or party, Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Allahapperuma said that Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka, who contested at the last Presidential Election, informed the President.

He was addressing an event in Akuressa today.

“Mr. Fonseka left after informing the Temple Tress in a very respectable manner. But our dear colleague Maithripala Sirisena, who had tea with us a day before leaving the government, didn’t bother to inform us, that he was going to be the Common Candidate of the Opposition,” the Minister charged.

He said that on January 9, US President Obama will able to see on CNN news channel that the country had protected President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

“We should give that message to the world on January 9,” the Minister said.
