Consequent to the inability to run the hydro power plants to their full capacity due to the prevailing dry weather the CEB has incurred a loss of Rs. 3.6 billion from July this year, Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said.

Therefore, all consumers must learn to save electricity as a habit for their own benefit and the country at large.

Minister Ranawaka vowed that however, there will be no power cuts and every effort will be taken to minimize the losses through alternative measures and the Vidulka -2011 exhibition is one such step.
