Human Rights Watch has revealed that migrant domestic workers to Kuwait are heavily exploited and have minimal protection against abusive employers.

The HRW, in their report have stated migrant domestic workers have minimal protection against employers who abuse them physically or sexually and from those who violate the workers’ rights through withholding salaries, forcing employees to work long hours with no days off and depriving them of adequate food. Workers who attempt to flee abusive employers are made to face criminal charges for “absconding” and are unable to change jobs without their employer’s permission, the report further states.
