The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) is to push for the release of detained former Army Chief General Sarath Fonseka and will conduct an ‘Adistana Pooja’ on Tuesday evening to coincide with the first anniversary of the war victory.

General Fonseka’s wife Anoma Fonseka told a news conference today that it is a twist of destiny for her to see rehearsals of military parades within the premises of the Navy headquarters where her husband, the key player of this victory, is being held in military custody.

“Every day, I visit my husband at this place twice. Then, I see these rehearsals.  However, people of this country, in the heart of their hearts, know the contribution made by my husband in bringing this ruthless war to a successful completion,” Mrs. Fonseka said.
