Homagama Magistrate issued summons on former Attorney General Mohan Peiris to appear in court for the inquiry into the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda.

Former AG is to be summoned over his statement at the United Nations Committee Against Torture (CAT) where he had said that Ekneligoda was not missing, but living in a foreign country under political asylum.

Eknelogoda, a cartoonist and a columnist went missing on January 24, 2010, two days ahead of the presidential election between President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Sarath Fonseka.
