Cop interdicted

A police constable in Anuradhapura has been interdicted for having two motorbikes with the same number plate. A disciplinary inquiry has also been launched against his wife who is also in the police.

The North Central Province Police DIG had received information of the offence committed by the interdicted police constable of the Anuradhapura police Headquarters and his wife a WPC who is attached to the Udamaluwa police.

Sequel to the information, an investigation directed by the ASP Traffic, Anuradhapura police Gamini Meegahakumbura had revealed the offence committed by the two suspects under the same number plate NCGW 1993.

Accordingly the two motor cycles had been taken into custody and further inquiries had disclosed that only one motor cycle had been registered and both cycles had used the same number plate. (Daily Mirror online)
