Controversy surrounds an order issued to print diaries at the expense of the Tourism Promotion Bureau. The bureau has been told by the Minister of Tourism Achala Jagoda to foot the bill for 20,000 diaries at a cost of approximately Rs 82 Lakhs.

However Tourism Ministry secretary Goerge Micheal told Daily Mirror online he had refused to sign the relevant documents to print the diaries. He insisted that there was no need to implement the order despite it being issued by Tourism Minister.
