Colombo may get less water if drought continues

National Water Supply and Drainage Board Deputy Chairman Gamini Gunawardene said the supply of water to Colombo would have to be restricted if this drought continues for another two weeks.

Water is now provided to Colombo from the newly commissioned Kelani Right Bank Project. Water supply to other areas has been disrupted from up to two to six hours a day because of the drastic drop in the water level in the reservoirs. (Sanath Desmond)
