The DMK-backed Tamil Eelam Supporters Organization (TESO) on Sunday demanded the Center move a resolution in the Parliament seeking an international probe into the alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka.

A resolution passed by TESO at a meeting here said: "Why can't Indian Parliament pass a resolution when British Prime Minister David Cameron can speak about an international probe into the war crimes in Sri Lanka?"

The TESO resolution condemned India's participation at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting ( CHOGM) in Sri Lanka.

It demanded political and financial autonomy for the north province in Sri Lanka and implementation of the 13th amendment to that country's constitution which called for devolution of powers to the provinces.

The TESO resolution urged the Indian government to ensure that financial aid reached the Tamils in Sri Lanka.

DMK chief M Karunanidhi chaired the meeting, and leaders, including party treasurer M K Stalin, Dravidar Kazhagam president K Veeramani, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leaders Thol Thirumavalavan and D Ravikumar, pro-Eelam leader Suba Veerapandian and others participated at the meeting.(Times of India)
