Central Provincial Councillor Tissa Bandara Herath was today arrested after he surrendered to the police on charges of assaulting a man in Dambulla.

Police said the councillor had allegedly assaulted the man who was at the Dambulla Economic Centre.

He is to be produced in the Dambulla Magistrate’s Court today.(Piyumi Fonseka)
