Two leading actresses who were reportedly part of a prostitution ring were arrested by the Mirihana police after an undercover operation, police sources told Daily Mirror online

The police who used a decoy, in the form a businessman who arrived from Italy had contacted a number which was provided to them by an informant stating that prostitutes could be arranged by contacting the said number.

The two actresses who had appeared in several leading television series had been taken into custody with a male suspect. The van they used has also been impounded. The police made the arrest when they arrived to meet the decoy in the Nugegoda - Thalawatugoda road area, the police said

A sum of Rs. 15,000 was demanded by the supplier for each actress provided for the decoy. A team led by Nugegoda Police Emergency OIC IP Bathiya Jayasignhe carried out the raid.The three suspects are scheduled to be presented to the Nugegoda Courts tomorrow. (Daily Mirror online)
