Castro meets MR

Cuban President Raul Castro held talks with visiting President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Revolution Palace in Havana, on Sunday, officials said.

Castro and Rajapakse discussed "the current state of bilateral relations and exchanged on other issues of regional and international interest," the brief text, read by a local television news broadcaster.

Rajapakse, who arrived Friday for a visit until Tuesday, then will head to Brazil to attend the UN summit Rio +20. During his stay, the visiting President will visit Sri Lankan Labiofam laboratories, the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the historic center of Havana, World Heritage Site.(Agencies)
