Canned fish to be tested for radiation

Samples of canned fish imports would be tested for radiation continuously, the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Authority said today. Sri Lanka imports canned fish   mainly from the countries such as Korea, China, Chili and Thailand.

Authority’s Chairman Prof. Wimaladharma Abeywickrama told Daily Mirror that contaminated water had been released from the Fukushima Nuclear Power plant to the Pacific Ocean after it was hit by the earthquake. (KB)
