Canada's Immigration Bureau has partnered with Thailand security officials to arrest 155 illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka, Canadian news agency CJOB said.

‘Intelligence information showed a number of the immigrants had terrorist ties. A raid of several Bangkok apartments uncovered a photo of Elam rebel group leader Prapa Karan; a United Nations-recognized international terrorist’ CJOB said.

The Thai Army's security center had informed Canadian officials the illegal immigrants had been sneaking into the country without travel documents or valid visas.

It's believed some of the Elam rebels had planned to seek asylum in a third country. Interrogations are underway to speed up their exit from Thailand.
