Cameron meets Wigneswaran, visits ' Uthayan' office

Prime Minister David Cameron is currently visiting the Uthayan newspaper office in Jaffna after concluding a meeting with the Northern Province Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran at the Jaffna library.

The Prime Minister had boarded a special plane after the conclusion of the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting ( CHOGM).

The meeting had lasted for close to half an hour.

“I'm the first leader to go to the north of Sri Lanka since 1948. I want to shine a light on chilling events there first hand and Political leaders in the north of Sri Lanka tell me they are glad I've come to help highlight what is happening here,” Cemeron tweeted.

Meanwhile  group of around 200 demonstrators of ‘The families of those who disappeared’ had attempted to stop the convoy from leaving the premises after the meeting. .( N. Parameshwaram)
