Govt. requests report from Aussie authorities

The government has requested a full report from the Australian government regarding the asylum seeker boat which capsized off Australia last week, the External Affairs Ministry said.

“We have requested the authorities in Australia to submit a report on the incident, and the current situation, Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Karunatilaka Amunugama told Daily Mirror Online.

Commenting on reports on the incident, Mr. Amunugama said that he could give figures of deaths or survivors, but said he expected a report during the course of the day. (Chaturanga Pradeep – DM Online)
