Black magic teacher interdicted

The teacher, who is alleged to have burnt the soles of a school girl’s feet, was interdicted today following a preliminary investigation carried out on the instruction of the Education Ministry Secretary, the Kebithigollawa Zonal Education Director Hemapala Gunawardana said.

The injured girl was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo on the instructions of parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and Minister Johnston Fernando.

The girl alleged that she was subjected to cruelty at the hands of the teacher, who had dabbled in black magic and exorcism at a ‘Devale’ that he owned with his wife, who was engaged in fortune telling.(Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa)
