Black Caps seal ODI series win against SL

New Zealand has beaten Sri Lanka by 120 runs in the sixth ODI at the University Oval this morning to wrap up victory in the seven-game series.

The hosts elected to bat after winning the toss and an unbeaten 97 from Kane Williamson, coupled with a 96 from Ross Taylor, helped the Kiwis post 315-8.

However, as Sri Lanka finished up all out on 195 as New Zealand boast an unassailable 4-1 lead heading into the final game.

Kumar Sangakkara provided the first real contribution at the crease following a combined 50 from openers Lahiru Thirimanne (29) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (21).

The seventh and last game gets underway on Thursday.
