A Belgian trade delegation visiting the island on Monday shows that the absence of the GSP+ has not put a damper on bi-lateral trade between Sri Lanka and the EU, Ravinatha Ariyasinghe, the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the EU, Belgium, and Luxembourg told Daily Mirror.

“An indication of the fact that the absence of GSP + was not holding us back too much was that there were forty (40) companies coming here because they realize that Sri Lanka, even without this price advantage, was still a great place to do business in,” Ambassador Ariyasinghe said.
