The army requests the public to be vigilant and not to meddle around with suspicious articles that may be explosives and to inform the nearest army detachment, in such an instance, Army Spokesman Major General Ubaya Madawela told Daily Mirror online.

He added that a claymore weighing 2 Kilograms and four unserviceable grenades were recovered from a government property in Nittabuwa during the weekend after information was received from the public.

He further added that a few isolated incidents such as these were recorded after the war and that the public was requested to be on the alert for explosives that may have been brought during the war and still hidden in Colombo. (Daily Mirror online)
