BASL to meet Speaker Chamal

The Executive Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has decided to meet Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa in order to discuss the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice.
The BASL in a statement today, while expressing their grave concern over the present developments regarding the issue states the decision to meet the Speaker was made during a special meeting held yesterday (2). An official of the BASL stated they have already written to the Speaker, requesting an appointment for the discussion as soon as possible.
The statement further read the Executive Committee also made a decision to meet on November 7 in order to review the outcomes of the meeting that will be held with the Speaker and to take further steps in that regard. (LP)
