The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) is contemplating a probe on the professional conduct of Attorney-at-Law and police media spokesman, SSP Ajith Rohana.

BASL president Upul Jayasuriya said that the police media spokesman, while describing himself as a lawyer, keeps making false statements on important issues.

“While identifying himself as an attorney-at-law, the police media spokesman keeps telling palpable lies,” Mr. Jayasuriya said.

“He can’t identify himself as a lawyer and lie,” he said; stressing the responsibility of the legal profession.

He said the BASL was considering a probe on the professional conduct of SSP Rohana. (Susitha R. Fernando)
