Basil attends Parliament

United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Basil Rajapaksa who was in remand custody for two months attended parliament today for the first time after the new government was formed in January.

Mr. Rajapaksa walked into the chamber amid loud applause by opposition members. He occupied a seat on the third row in the opposition benches.

He had earlier obtained leave of absence from parliament. (YP)
