Bangladeshi, Myanmar nationals remanded

The 127 Bangladeshi and 11 Myanmar nationals who were rescued by the Sri Lankan Navy in the high seas off Oluvil were ordered to be remanded till Friday and sent to the Mirihana Detention Camp for Foreigners until then.
 
Investigations had revealed that they had set sail to Malaysia on December 26 but had been drifting in the high seas for the past two weeks.
 
Meanwhile steps are being taken to deport them to their countries.(SD)
