An angry UNP Puttalam District Member of Parliament (MP) Range Bandara has written to UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayaka over the latter’s comments about Bandara’s mental state and allegations that he had ‘ulterior motives’.

In a letter which was also sent to the Chairman of the UNP, Gamini Jayawickrama Perera and the Deputy leader of the party, Karu Jayasuriya, Bandara said that Attanayaka had no right to comment about his mental state as only a certified doctor could comment about that matter and not someone who pretended to be a doctor.

In addition to this, Bandara also answered to allegations made by Attanayaka in interviews in which he had said that Bandara had ulterior motives.
Bandara replied saying that his political goal for the past 16 years was to establish a government for the people.

In the letter, Bandara also questioned why the working committee had not brought up the subject of disciplinary action regarding his assault incident on two occasions in which the working committee had met after April 23. (Daily Mirror online)
