Back to their home towns

Eight hundred and sixty three families who were displaced from their home towns during the war were allowed to resettle in Vadamarachchi East in Jaffna from today.

The families can now resettle in Pokkaruppu, Vettrilaikernai and Maruthankerny areas which were under military control earlier during the war.

A function allowing the displaced to resettle back in their home towns that were affected by war was held in Pokkaruppu attended by Chief Guest of the event Economic Minster Basil Rajapaksa. Ten houses built by the Sri Lanka Army were also handed over to the people during the event. (Kavisuki)
