Australia reached 115 for the loss of 6 at the end of second day of the first test being played at Galle, consolidating their lead to 283.

Australia scored 273 in the first innings, before bowling out the Sri Lankans for 105 -- the hosts losing 7 wickets for just 18 runs.

Debutant Nathan Lyon was the pick of the bowlers taking 5 wickets for 34 runs as Sri Lanka grappled with its own conditions, finishing 168 behind the visitors. (SMD)
