The Dehiwala police arrested six people today for dumping garbage in public places in the Dehiwala police area. They had dumped the garbage while driving past the area in their private vehicles.
Police media spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said that the police is assisting the Municipal and Urban Councils and also the Environment Ministry to arrest such individuals and to combat pollution of the environment. (SD)
