Arrest Sudharman before June 12: Magistrate

The Kaduwela Magistrate and Additional District Judge ordered the Mirihana Special Investigation Bureau to arrest ITN Deputy Manager Sudharman Radaliyagoda at his office premises before June 12 and produce him in courts on or before that date.

Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratna made this direction to the Police following submissions made by the counsel for the complainants J.A.Asoka Perera of Andiambalama and H.H.Sunil Thilak Bandara of Kelaniya who alleged that the suspect had swindled him by forging documents and collecting Rs 1.5 million from them promising to get them scrap iron that were detached from the Colombo Badulla Railway line  

The Counsel said the court had already ordered the arrest of the suspect and whenever the police went to arrest him he had evaded.

The Counsel said the complainants knew the whereabouts of the suspect and said the police could to accompany them when they go to arrest the suspect.

Considering the submission, the Magistrate ordered the Police to go with the complainants to arrest the suspect at his work place and produce him in courts on or before June 12. (Gunawathie Ilangakoon Manike - Athurugiriya)
