Army records more evidence

The Army has recorded evidence from 31 individuals regarding the case of General Sarath Fonseka (SF) who is presently in military custody, Major General Prasad Samarasinghe told Daily Mirror online. He added that the summary report was currently being prepared and that it will be presented to the Army Commander soon.

It was earlier reported that the former UNP MP Johnston Fernando and former MP Wijedasa Rajapaksa had also given evidence in a pre-inquiry trial against General Fonseka who was arrested by the Military Police while he was having a meeting with the politicians of the opposition parties on 8th of  February.

Further the government recently declared that the General will also be tried under the civil penal code for his involvement in the with Hicorp dealings.
