Leader of the PLOTE, Dharmalingham Siddharthan told the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) today that the involvement of the army in certain matters should be limited as it hampers with the process of development and reconciliation in the North.

“While the presence of the army in the north was a positive thing but its involvement in certain matters could at times be damaging to the communities in the area. The people have to go to the army camps to get help with anything. Even the Government Agent cannot act independently without the presence of the army,” Mr. Siddharthan said.
