Another nabbed with gold in rectum

A Sri Lankan who attempted to smuggle three pieces of gold weighing 621 g worth Rs. 3.1 million to Mumbai has been arrested last night by Customs officers at the BIA, Customs Director and media spokesman Leslie Gamini said

Customs officials said the gold pieces had been packed in condoms, and hidden in the suspect's rectum. The suspect has been identified as a 30-year-old resident of Negombo.

Meanwhile four other Sri Lankans who arrived from Dubai were nabbed with 783 mobile phones and accessories valued Rs. 3.7 million, last night. The suspects were from the Colombo area. (Chaturanga Pradeep-DM Online)
