Akuressa PS Chairman arrested

The chairman of the Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha was arrested early this morning for allegedly raping a 14 year-old girl last month, Police said. 

The 48 year-old suspect was arrested by the woman and child protection bureau of the Matara Police and will be produced before the magistrate court today. Pix by Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk
