A fake air travel agency has been busted and two suspects were arrested including a man who had posed as a police officer, the police media unit said.

The suspects had reportedly collected money from people around the country on the pretext of sending them overseas.

According to the police one suspect was arrested while he had stranded nine people near the Katunayaka international airport.

Following further investigations another suspect was also arrested. The Katunayaka police has so far received nine complaints against the suspects.

The suspects had carried out their operations while conducting a private security firm in Galnewa. The Katunayaka airport police are conducting further investigations. (Daily Mirror online)
