The Postal Department will resume collecting letters and packages to be sent via air mail after a three day disruption, after the recommencement of air travel to Europe from the Bandaranayke International Airport.

The Post Master General M K B Dissanayake said that letters and packages will be accepted from tomorrow.

“We will accept packages from tomorrow, and will issue announcements to this effect’ he said.

Earlier this week, the Post Master General had asked the public to refrain from sending packages to Europe due to the prevailing situation in Europe due to the volcanic ash that was caused by the eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland.
